The third concert of this month already! With us is the recent winner of the largest American guitar competition - Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) - Lovro Peretić, a young professional guitarist!

Biography:

Lovro Peretić (1995) is an internationally acclaimed classical musician and guitarist from Zagreb. He began learning the guitar at a young age under the guidance of Professor Xhevdet Sahatxhija. Later, he completed his undergraduate studies at the Music Academy in Zagreb under the tutelage of Professor Darko Petrinjak. During his studies in Zagreb, he spent a year on a student exchange program in France (Lille), studying at L’École Supérieure Musique et Danse Hauts-de-France under the mentorship of Professor Judicaël Perroy. Subsequently, he completed his studies in Switzerland at the Haute école de musique de Genève.


He has won numerous awards at various music competitions including the Guitar Foundation of America (USA), Eurostrings Guitar Competition, Changsha International Guitar Competition (China), Liechtensteiner Gitarrentage (Liechtenstein), Fernando Sor in Rome (Italy), Boris Papandopulo in Zagreb, Zagreb Guitar Festival, Antwerpen Guitar Festival (Belgium), Andrés Segovia in Velbert (Germany), Anna Amalia in Weimar (Germany), Enrico Mercatali in Gorizia (Italy), Ida Presti in Samobor, Volos Guitar Festival (Greece), Concours international de guitare d'Antony (France), Brussels International Guitar Competition (Belgium).


He emerged as the winner of the third Eurostrings competition, leading to numerous concerts and lectures at music festivals across Europe. His most recent and significant achievement was winning the Guitar Foundation of America competition in the United States, which resulted in his debut recording for the prestigious record label Naxos at the end of last year. In September of this year, he commenced a major concert tour featuring around 50 concerts in the US and Canada, scheduled to run until the summer of 2024.


Apart from his work as a soloist, he actively participates in various chamber ensembles. One notable ensemble is the guitar trio "Evocación," with whom he released his first recording two years ago. As a soloist, he has collaborated with the Zagreb Soloists, the Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radiotelevision, and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra.
